Saw Avataar with the family. Very good movie, with lots of emotion, effects and sound. Liked it a lot. Saw it in 3D though I am told the IMAX version would have been better.
However I caught a slight undertone of racism in the movie. How come that it always takes a white simple man or super hero to help the underdog/indegenious population that is being attacked by the greedy types (Corporate greed here)? The story did not demand a white man as the lead. Why could it not have been a black or even asian actor as the lead? The blue color of the Nabi was just a different color for a non-white skin color to me. Well try as much as I did, thats what I left the theater at the end.
